COMMON SENSE APPROACH TO WASHING VEGETABLES AND FRUITS

The toxic journey of vegetables, salads and fruits from farm to our dining table is the reason of heightened diseases impact on our daily life

BIG QUESTION
The toxic journey of vegetables, salads and fruits from farm to our dining table loaded with pesticides , fungicides, dirt, grime, tobacco residues, bacteria, artificial waxes, etc. are sold in the market and we feed our family with toxic cocktail everyday. How should we wash the vegetables and fruits before consuming them?

SIMPLE ANSWER
Fruits and vegetables are sprayed with toxic chemicals to protect them from pest attack, fungal attack, so the ever increasing human population can be fed. Till we find a practical solution to insecticide, pesticide, fungicide, or lets say chemical free vegetables and fruits and protect our families from daily toxic intake, use common sense practices and live a healthy life.

Look for fresh-looking fruits and vegetables that are not bruised. The bruised or broken skin which will indicate that the vegetable or fruit has already been contaminated. Germs can adhere to the surface of vegetable and can be passed to the flesh when cut. Do not purchase anything that doesn't smell fresh, and do not buy packaged vegetables that look slimy.

Purchase the required quantity of vegetables and fruits which is going to be consumed today or max tomorrow.

Once purchased wash all purchased vegetables and fruits or salads immediately on reaching kitchen wash area.

Do not stuff in the refrigerator for later washing.

Wash all vegetables and fruits thoroughly with Veg 'n' fru wash before consuming, extra vegetables or fruits can then be stored in the refrigerator for later use.

Veg 'n' fru wash is an edible ingredients based vegetable and fruit wash specially developed with years of research for washing away all surface contaminants like pesticide residue, fungicide residue, dirt, grime, soil, wax, etc. It basically dissolves the resinous layer present on the surface of all vegetables and fruits on which all insecticide residue holds or bacteria or fungus flourishes. That layer being insoluble in water is not washed off by mere plain water rinsing hence all vegetables and fruits to be thoroughly clean with Veg 'n' fru wash and then rinsed with water to get squeaky clean vegetables and fruits. EAT CLEAN - LIVE HEALTHY.

Even the vegetables like gourds, zucchini, etc. and fruits like oranges should also be washed as the bacteria while peeling the vegetable can transfer to the peeler or can transfer to your hand while peeling by hand and then when the peeler or your hand touches the inner skin of the vegetable or fruit they get transferred to the inner part of the vegetable or fruit hence causing health hazard on eating.

Water used can be brought to luke warm in winters or normal room temperatures in summer.

Depending on the fragility of the produce being handled use appropriate methods of handling the produce to ensure to damage is done to invite the bacterial attack. Soft fruits should not be left in water for long as they may loose flavor.

All leafy vegetables like lettuce, spinach, fenugreek, etc. should be thoroughly cleaned dipped within the water as the ridges on their surface are great bacteria breeding zones and if not cleaned properly the bacteria will grow in no time. If the bunch of leaf is bigger or the quantity larger or the time shorter then douche the bunch in Veg 'n' fru wash mixture thoroughly and then fresh water for as long as convenient.

Cut away the bruised, slimy area while eating raw or before cooking.

When in doubt throw it out.

USE simple commonsense techniques and live life healthy.
